You can start by looking into modeling agencies abroad, how they work, and what they expect from their models. It is a good idea to determine what type of model you are, so you can look for agencies that are a good fit for you. After that, research agencies in Bulgaria. Look for those with a solid reputation and clear working conditions.

Apply and wait to see what feedback you get. Most agencies have submission guidelines. Make sure you follow them to the letter. For example, at Alia Models, we require several photos against a clear background, with a clean look in both close-up and full-body shots. A strong, professional social media presence can be an easy way to get noticed. This way, agencies can reach out to you, but be cautious of scams. Check every agency that contacts you to make sure it is legitimate. model-Zornitsa Gospodinova, photographer-Encho Naydenov

Attend fashion events if you have the opportunity to do so and create professional connections with people in the industry. Check if there are any casting calls happening in Bulgaria and attend them if possible.

Work on building good self-esteem and a positive sense of self to be prepared for work in front of the camera, on the fashion runway, and as part of a team. Be dedicated and patient because the fashion industry is an ever-changing and challenging environment where only hardworking and persistent professionals succeed.

If you have professional photos, you can organize them into a portfolio. However, don’t worry too much about it, because your mother agency will take care of putting it together for you.
