Hello, my name is Inna Ignatova. I was born in Ruse - a city often referred to as the 'Little Vienna' because of its aristocratic character and spirit. I am a professional interior designer, but fashion has always been that quiet, golden strand that runs through my entire life - consistent and inspiring.
Today, I am part of the Alia Models family, and I am proud to share some of the very special projects in which I have invested a part of myself:
The visual concept for SOFBUILD (Kosher building) - see here
The Kaufland campaign that was recently released - see here
But before the successes... I would like to tell you about the journey. Because I believe that a person arrives exactly where they need to be precisely when they are ready for it.
The beginning
It all started when I was 13 and under the guidance of Diana Poptonova. I was discovered by my first agency in my hometown of Ruse. The first year wasn't just about posing - it was like being in school - hours of walking lessons, discipline, exercise, and building self-confidence. There, I didn't just learn how to look good on camera, but how to respect the craft and build character.
The freedom of a freelancer – lessons learned from stereotypes
When my first agency went out of business, I chose to continue on my own. I believed that the contacts I had established over the years were sufficient, and the idea of an agency seemed unnecessary to me. The thought "I'm not going to be a top model anyway" often sounded like a reasonable argument in my head, but in fact it covered up fear and deep distrust of the industry and of myself. Over time, I realized that these beliefs were not mine alone. They were shaped by stereotypes that I had accepted as truth - that age is a barrier, that appearance has strictly defined standards, that a model's career is short and predetermined, and that opportunities are only available to "certain types of people." These stereotypes became a silent but constant obstacle. They didn't stop me outright, but they made me limit myself - to choose the safe over the bold, the familiar over the unknown, to give up before I even tried because "that's how it's done" or "that's how it usually goes." Without the support of an agency, without regular practice, clear direction, and professional guidance, my development inevitably slowed down. Until one day I gathered the courage to ask myself the question that changed everything: "What if I'm wrong?”
Finding a Home in Fashion
For me, the agency has never been just a contract or a percentage. It is trust. It is security, protection, honesty, and care. And the booker is the person you can count on amid the chaos behind the scenes or during difficult moments on the spot, sometimes even when all you need is a word, a little moral support, or the feeling that someone sees and hears you, even when the spotlight is elsewhere.
My move to Sofia changed everything. I went to a casting for Sofia Fashion Week on my own and got accepted. I stood side by side with models from the biggest agencies in the country. That's when I met models Lenar and Marina Paslar from Alia Models, and that was the moment when it all came together. They weren't just beautiful models. They were people. People in the true sense of the word, attentive, kind, caring, and genuine. Right there, among the multitude of perfect faces and strict standards, it was this human touch that gave me strength. It showed me that fashion can be more than just a stage, it is a home. That's how I came to see the models at Alia Models as my friends, because of their values, their way of thinking, their determination, and their respect for the person beyond the appearance. Not long after, I had a long, sincere, and fully informed conversation with the manager of Alia Models, Kirilka Hristova, and I made a decision.
No illusions or empty promises. Just clarity, trust, and a shared vision for the way forward. Today, two years later, I can say with all my heart: "It was one of the best decisions of my life.”
Why do we call it a Mother agency?
Being independent sounds appealing, but real growth requires structure and support. It is no coincidence that in our industry, the agency is called the "mother agency." It works for you, protects your interests, and gives you peace of mind that you are not alone in this beautiful but intense adventure.
Thank you for your trust and for being part of this story with me!
With love, Inna Ignatova ☺
