Working as a model allows you to explore different areas of the fashion industry. Some models specialise in one particular category, while others experiment with multiple types to find the style that suits them best. If you wish to develop your career as a model you need to be sure of the field that suits you best. If you need help with this, we suggest you read Episode 3 (Types of models).
Once you have determined the type of model you are, we recommend that you start working towards your goal. The first and most important thing is to build a professional and suitable portfolio.
If you want to prepare in the best possible way, do some research on fashion images of the model type you believe you are. This will boost your confidence when you sit in front of the camera. We highly recommend that you practise your posing before each photoshoot. It is best to do that in front of the mirror or make a short video of yourself so you can watch it and notice your strengths.
REMEMBER: Professional photographers are looking for a strong presence, expression and well-controlled movements.
